Healesville Sanctuary is teaming up with Yarra Valley icons to bring you a gourmet experience with a wild difference! Indulge in some of the Yarra Valley’s finest fresh and gourmet produce this Queen’s Birthday at the Healesville Sanctuary’s Wine and Wildlife Weekend. The park and animals provide the perfect outdoor backdrop for this outdoor degustation.
From 11am to 4pm each day, four pavilions will be showcasing an exciting line-up of local wineries, breweries and a hearty winter menu for you to sample and purchase. For three days you can indulge in the finest wines from De Bortoli, Punt Road, Oakridge, Payten & Jones, One Block and Boat O’Craigo, craft beers and cider from Napoleone and St Ronan’s, delicious chocolates from Kennedy and Wilson, gourmet cheese tastings and more.
Sanctuary Harvest Head Chef Pascal will be pulling out all the winter favourites from slow cooked beef with winter root veggies, to pulled lamb rolls with mint jelly, to red lentil and pumpkin soup with crusty bread! Warm up by roaring open fires and delight your senses with live acoustic music by Rhys Crimmin, capturing crowds with his warm bluesy style.
Keepers will also be roaming the grounds with some of their furry, feathered and scaly friends for wildlife encounters. Plus, don’t forget to take a seat for Spirits of the Sky and the Tales from the Platypus Creek show which are also included with your entry. The exhibition features iconic costumes, personal clothing and artefacts drawn from private collections around the world, many of which have never been seen before in Australia.
Marilyn Monroe remains one of the most celebrated film stars in history. In this comprehensive, one of a kind exhibition, audiences will discover how ordinary girl next door, Norma Jean Baker, became Marilyn Monroe, the glamorous and universally-recognised screen goddess.
